Local Derby - Girlings vs Abersychan

Abersychan took the short journey and travelled away to Girlings with a strong 18 man squad with a few key players unavailable, the match began with a Abersychan kick off where unfortuntly 3 minutes into game time Abersychans No 10 Lewis Shaw took a serious knock to the haed from Girlings No 12 which resulted in a trip to A&E and 4 stiches.

Match carried on in good spirit with evenly fought scrums and line outs from both sides,Girlings then went on to score 2 tries in the first half with 1 scored off a well worked driving line out with a break in the Abersychan defence.Abersychan were awarded a penalty which was nicely converted by replacement 10 casey Roomus who also kicked Abersychans 2nd penalty.A yellow card was also given to Abersychan N0 8 Scott Taylor towards the end of the first half.

Girlings then went on to score 3 more tries with disamay to the hard worked Abersychan team which left the full time score Girlings 34 Abersychan 6

Abersychan wish Girlings RFC who are yet to be defeated with 2 wins from 2 all the best for the rest of the season

Abersychan now have a bye in next weeks upcoming swalec bowl and will return to home ground on September 24th v Rhayader with a full strengh squad
