Abersychan 31 - Rhyader 21

Abersychan got back to wining ways after their last game with a hard fought win against a determined Rhyader team.

Rhyader made the long journey down to Abersychan to fulfill their fixture with only a 13 man squad, meaning uncontested scrums from the begining of the match.

2 early trys from Abersychan scrum half Deri King who also converted, and it looked like it could be an easy win for Abersychan.Although the visiting Rhayder team had other plans.

Disapline at the breakdown let Abersychan down with Rhyader scoring a try from a quick tap penalty and an Abersychan player being shown the yellow card.

Deri King went over in the corner for another try after running around most of the Rhyader defence for his hat trick of trys on the day.

Abersychan were shown another 2 yellow cards in the second half and the visitors made the most of it by scoring another try.

Some good running rugby with great support from the Abersychan fowards saw Daniel (Tank) Smith smash through the Rhyader Defence from the 22 to score his first Abersychan try.

That was followed by Abersychan fullback Josh Smallman crossing the line for Abersychans fith try of the game and the bonus point.

Rhyader finished strong with another good try from another quick tap penalty which saw the final score as 31-21 to Abersychan.

Abersychan would like to wish Rhayder all the best in the rest of the season.

Abersychan are 2 wins from 3 games so far this season and are in action at home again next week (01-10-16) against Tredegar Rfc.
