Great Start To The Season

Abersychan got off to a great start to the season with a 10-7 win at home against Tref-Y-Clawdd.

Abersychan were dominant in the scrums from the start but a mix up in communication with the Abersychan full back led to the visitors scoring an easy first try.

Abersychan soon scored a well worked Try that saw No.8 Scott Taylor smash through the visitors defence. Deri King (man of the match) converted the kick to level the game.

Both teams had scoring opportunities for the rest of the game but some great scrummaging and defence by Abersychan stopped the visitors scoring.

In the last minuite of the game Abersychan turned over a scrum on their own try line and attacked up the field to be given a penalty just outside the 22.

Casey Roomus stepped up and kicked the penalty to win Abersychan the game with the last play of the game.

Abersychan now travel to Girlings for their next fixture.
